Major Atom, 2012-2013, AAA (Cambridge Minor Hockey)

TEAM work & effort have collectively paved the road to the second round for our 2002 AAA Hawks. The boys first official play-off series win in their short history (as a team) not only shows great improvement over the course of this season but it also (more importantly) represents a valuable lesson for the boys...hard work pays off.  It certainly doesn't get any easier as the boys will now take the ice against the division Champion: Waterloo Wolves but our boys are rolling and they are ready to accept the challenge.  Can you say "Cinderella"?  Let's GO Hawks GO!!

Seemingly, there was never any doubt as to whether or not our little Hawks were going to finish this series in a strong and convincing fashion.  The boys sensed that their fantastic teamwork in the preceding 3 games had put the Lakers "on the ropes" and they were relentless in game 4...picking up the final 2 pts needed to advance to the next round.  The boys now await their 2nd round assignment with quiet confidence.  GO Hawks GO!! 

Lets hear it for our Hawks!!  The boys all made the long journey to Goderich on Tuesday night (right out of school) & they all fought hard in a tightly contested see-saw battle that lasted 40 regulation minutes and another 5 tense minutes of OT.  I personally would rather eat a tv dinner than tie anybody at anything but 1 point is far better than none...especially when we had to drive for 2 hours to get it.  Hawks 4 pts, Lakers 2 pts.  Nice job boys!!  Keep it going on Thursday & finish this thing. 

I can't recall who said it but, back in November, somebody said something like "...lets see how we do in the New Year..."  Holy Smokes, if anybody wasn't entertained by that effort that our little men put forth on Sunday afternoon at the Galt Arena Gardens...we better break out the Defibrillator.  Its FAR from over but OUR boys are laying it all on the line right now EVERY shift and their Coach's could not be more proud of each and every one of them.  They are ALL accepting their roles and doing everything they can to help the TEAM.  GREAT effort boys!!!  GO HAWKS GO!!  Don't let up...keep it ...

If you ask around our minor hockey community most will tell you that a 1 hour 15 minute road trip to a game is usually a foregone conclusion for the young teams in our Association.  Our little Hawks weren't thinking about that tonight...they were only thinking about the next shift and how they could contribute to what was a GREAT collective effort by our Major Atom AAA team.  The boys out-hustled the Lakers for the majority of the game & the result was their reward...HOME ICE advantage in their first round play-off series.  WAY to GO HAWKS!!  Keep it going!!
