Solid TEAM Effort Propels Hawks over the Huskies
A big character win was much needed after last weekend’s demise in the Cambridge MD tournament and a BIG character win the Hawks got!

After a rough weekend in Cambridge last weekend the Hawks headed down the 403 on a rainy Saturday and came home with a big win.  “I thought the boys bounced back real well” was Coach Craig’s take on the afternoon.  “Last weekend we played this same Huskies team and I thought it was one of our worst efforts all season…we just couldn’t get it going.  We weren’t focussed and we were not ready to play that game.  That said, we discussed things in the room before the game today and our boys responded well!  I was so happy to see the boys battle back for the victory.”

Goals from Pap, The Rock and Browny paved the way for C-Mo’s blast from the point to serve as the game winner!  I was very happy to see C-Mo bury his chance today.  He’s been working so hard and it paid off for him.  Hard work was the key to victory this afternoon and was the forefront of conversation around the Hawks’ room after the game.

“We battled hard, never gave up and executed our game plan” indicated Coach Neil.  “We had a number of players play BIG roles in today’s game and it paid off!  Lloyder and Panny both played phenomenal games today and were keys in helping our back end play so well.  On top of that, AP player Evan Gombocz was very solid in his first game as a Hawk.”

“I thought up front our boys played great.  They battled hard and didn’t give up” chimed Coach Dave.  Paps puts the shot on net and it goes is…I mean a shot like that, I could have stopped it BUT we keep telling the boys to put the puck at the net because you never know what can happen…Pap did that and it ended up being a big goal for us.  I thought Hank did a great job up front today and we will need him to play a bigger role up there tomorrow.  I am really looking forward to the game!”

The Hawks will be in tough tomorrow as they head back out on the road again to face St. Catherine’s.  The last time St. Catherine’s played the Hawks the boys in black were beaten quite badly.  Since then this team has improved significantly!!  Coach Dave isn’t the only person looking forward to tomorrow’s game!  My tickets are already purchased and last indication from the St. Catherine’s organization was that game time tickets will be very hard to come by as everyone wants to see these Hawks in action!  Sit tight folks…it should be a good one!

HAWKS Chirps

  • AP goalie Carson Harris was also called up for today’s action due to an injury to Hawks ‘tender Danny Rose.

  • Starting goalie Isaac ‘Hammer Time’ Hammer had a strong outing between the pipes.

  • Justin ‘Pimmy’ Pimentel had his best game of the year being a strong force both offensively as well as defensively.

  • Good to see Nelson’s knee issues were not as bad as originally thought.
