Ceremonial Puck Drop Honors Our Veterans Prior to Sunday’s matchup against the Sun County Panthers, the Cambridge Jr. Redhawks held a special ceremonial puck drop to honour those who have served our country. Veterans Terry Smith and Nathan McDaniel were recognized at center ice for their courage, dedication, and service to all Canadians.
The ceremony included a touching Remembrance Day monologue by Jack Fournel, followed by a solemn performance of The Last Post.
Taking the ceremonial faceoff were Sun County’s #17 Joseph McLeod and Cambridge Jr. Redhawks Captain #17 Ethan Schmidt, with the puck dropped by Noah Shewchuk (Cambridge Hawks U14 AAA)
The ceremony concluded with a rousing rendition of O’Canada, beautifully performed by Chantal Thorn (#93’s mom), leaving the arena united in reflection and gratitude.
The Cambridge Minor Hockey Association and the Cambridge Jr. Redhawks extend its heartfelt thanks to all veterans for their bravery, sacrifice, and unwavering commitment to protecting our freedoms.
