Depleted Hawks Earn Split-Play very well!
The depleted major bantam Hawks headed west this weekend for 2 games. Missing for the games were defenceman Alex Takacs (lower body day to day) and Jake Wilkinson (flu day to day.) A few others were also suffering ailments of one sort or another

In the first game the Hawks skated to a 5-4 victory against the Chatham Cyclones. After another slow start against this team, the Hawks stormed back gaining a well deserved 2 points. Leading the scoring brigade was Austin Sine with 2. Other Goal scorers were Paul Morra, Parker Wood and Tyler Martin. Assists went to Tyler Gagne (2), Mitch Montgomery, Alex Black, Alex Ritchie, Brett Wilson, Nathan Bastian, Levi Walker and Wood. The game was not without incident however as Tyler Martin was forced to leave part way through the third with an upper body injury and is listed as day to day.
With Martin, Wilkinson and Takacs all out of the lineup the Hawks were forced to take on the undefeated Sun County Panthers in Essex County with only 12 skaters. It was a fast paced game that saw both teams trade fantastic scoring opportunities , including goal posts at both ends. The Hawks played this game with passion and raw determination but unfortunately came out on the short end of the stick falling 1-0 when the Panthers scored the lone goal of the game half way through the third period. Owen Savory was excellent in the Hawk net. Great Effort Hawks!
The 97's next see action this upcoming Thursday when they will face London at Preston arena
