Hawks Blow 2 goal Lead -- Twice!
The Bantam Hawks headed into this past weekend with hopes of making up ground in the Major Bantam Pavillion East Division. On Saturday the Hawks headed to St. Marys to take on the east leading Huron Perth Lakers.

Despite being outplayed for much of the first two periods the Hawks found themselves with a 1-0 lead heading into the third on a goal by Tyler Gagne.  Early in the third period the Hawks jumped to a 2-0 lead on some hard work by Nathan Bastian. But the Hawks failed to "close the deal" running into some penalty trouble. The end result was Huron Perth 3, Cambridge Hawks 2.
On Sunday the Hawks hosted the second place Waterloo Wolves. Despite falling behind 1-0 early, the Hawks continued their hard work. They were rewarded with two first period goals; the first coming on the power play by Paul Morra with assists going to Alex Black and Parker Wood, and the second going to Austin Sine with assists to Nathan Bastian and AP player Michael Filipovic. The lone goal of the second period went to Nathan Bastian.
Once again the Hawks had a two goal lead in the third. But only 44 seconds into the frame, the Wolves, while playing short 2 men, managed a shorthanded goal.  This took the wind out of the sails briefly as the Wolves managed to tie the score less than two minutes later. The game ended in a 3-3 tie.
The Hawks next see action on Wednesday in Hamilton when they take on the Reps.
