Hawks clip Saints' wings in final

The Cambridge minor atom MD Hawks marched into the Festival of Friendship tournament last weekend in Cambridge and came out with a championship win.

From the opening game, the team was all business and lit up the scoreboard for a 14-0 win over the Stratford Warriors. They tied their next game against Brantford Saints 2-2 and then beat the Cumberland Jr. Grads 5-1.

A thrilling semifinal 5-4 overtime win against Cumberland sent the team to the finals for a rematch versus Brantford.

Hard work gave the players an early 2-0 lead and solid defence shut the door on any further Brantford attacks.
