Meet our 18th Hawk, Mathias
Mathias is Cambridge Minor Bantam MD Hawks 18th man.
He is 7 years old and lives in southeastern Uganda in a very remote village. Mathias had sciatic nerve damage from poorly administered injections for malaria when he was younger. His lower right leg and foot were frozen in position and he could not walk well. Over this past summer, each of our Hawks earned money to pay for his surgery.
Mathias surgery was performed this fall and was very successful! Just recently Mathias has graduated out of his cast and onto just a brace. He's improving quicker than expected and is already weight-bearing and walking without pain. Mathias has been very active since his operation which is part of the reason he is doing so well.
We are all so proud to be apart of this amazing journey with Mathias....Way to go Hawks!
