Great Expereince
The Cambridge Hawks Minor Bantam team had the experience of a life time this week.

On October 18th at the Cambridge Centre Ice pad they played an exhibition game against Team Denmark (AaB Ishockey). The Denmark team had decided that instead of traveling for a tournament this season that they would prefer to experience some Good Ole Canadian Hockey! This was all about hockey and they couldn’t get enough. Aside from attending the OHL Kitchener Rangers game, and the AHL Toronto Marlies game, they took in Hockey Hall of Fame and some training at the Hockey Loft. It was thought that it would be great if they could play exhibition against a Canadian team and that’s where we came in. Todd Hlushko of Hockey Loft contacted the coaching staff and the game came to be. The competition on the ice was very good and both teams played great hockey. For the 3rd period both teams did a 7 player exchange and the boys traded jerseys and stepped on the bench with their new team! The smiles on the player’s faces could be seen from across the rink. The score ended 4-3 for Denmark, but in this game there were only winners. After the game both teams enjoyed a pizza party together, you would never know that these boys had just met, one would think they had been friends forever. The Cambridge players gave each Player and Coach an official Cambridge Hawk jersey which Denmark donned right away, and Denmark gave the Cambridge their official Denmark Team Scarf. Denmark’s Team Leader, Kim Mouridtsen says, Canada is a very cold country, and the scarves will keep us warm. All in all it was a great event and a great time for everyone involved and something these players will always remember.
