The SILVER lining
In a few weeks the Mens Olympic hockey team will head to Sochi in hopes of capturing another Gold medal.  There is no assurance that they will, but there is the expectation that anything less than a Gold Medal, will be a let down.

Silver in the Canadian hockey universe is often seen as a disappointment.

Today though, nothing could be further from the truth for our Minor Bantam Select team.  As previously noted this has been a tough year.  Our competition has been very high, and winning has been elusive.

This past weekend our team entered into the Amesbury Winter Classic and 3 days later we're walking away with a Silver medal.

Are we disappointed that we didn't win Gold... Yes.

Did we lose to a better team... Yes.

Will we better for the experience... Yes.

We have lots of hockey left to play before the Alliance Championships in April.  And with that said we believe there is more than enough time to build off of our good play,  not only from this tournament but from all the games we've recently played.

We have to work on fixing those things that are causing us games.  Many of them are mental lapses... while a few are confidence related.  Defence and timely scoring wins championships.  Our roadmap is simple and very clear.

Some notes from the weekend.

Game #1 - Jack Leslie
Game #2 - Seth Mckelvey
Game #3 - Brady Wilson
Game #4 - Cole Greco

One big positive, 12 of our 15 skaters had a point this weekend.
If we're going to have success it's going to be a team effort.
We will win... and lose as a team.

We begin our second half of practices and the plan is work on improving our speed, passing and shooting.

Heads up boys... we're moving in the right direction.
