PreSeason Begins
Hawks
vs. Hamilton Huskies
On Friday night, the Hawks played their
first exhibition game of the season against Hamilton Huskies. While the weather
was a balmy 26 degrees outside, it was even hotter inside the arena, as the
parents and players sat with anticipation. The kids entered the arena with fire
in their hearts and ice in their veins.
Bender got the kids all fired up with his dynamic warm-up and sent them on the ice with their game faces on. It is hard to believe this was the first game these kids have really played together as HAWKS – and play as a team they did! The game started hot with puck movement that wouldn’t stop. Bender, Hobson, Humphrey, Natale, Pragnell, and Whyte went all out…all game. While the defense (Day, Gardner, Howell, McLeod, O’Brien, and Scott) worked hard to protect the house. And, holy Moly, what goalies; Matheson and Quirk were stellar on Friday - giving a solid performance throughout the game. Hawks took their first victory of the exhibition season with a 4-2 win over Hamilton.
