Galt
arena was rockin' as the Minor Atom AAA Hawks took to the ice. The amazing music mix pumped the team up and
they were ready to play. The arena was
full of fans to cheer on their Hawks…
The Hawks came out strong against the Chatham Cyclones. With many early shots on net, it was just a matter of time before one of those amazing chances hit the back of the net. The pace of the game was lightning fast with back and forth play covering the whole ice. The first goal went to Chatham but with minutes left in the first period, Scott found the back of the net while his teammates worked to keep the shooting lanes clear. The score was 1-1 at the end of the first period.
The pace didn’t slow down in the second period and neither did the Hawks. There was lot of action on the ice and many puck battles. With 5 minutes left in the second period, Shewchuk persevered to make sure that the puck found its way over the goal line to bring the score to 2-2.
In the third period, the Hawks continued to battle hard. The team effort was obvious with every player giving 100% until the final whistle. Scott was able to find the back of net one more time, making the final score 4-3.
Well done Hawks - this was a great TEAM effort!
